Deirdre has been working with companion animals professionally for over 10 years, but has been caring for her own and others' pets for over 30 years. Deirdre's pet care career was inspired by her love of animals, but further motivated by her own difficulty in finding quality pet care when she went out of town. Deirdre is known to be "the dog lady" during the day (and sometimes overnight), but she's a certified cat lady all the time!
Having been owned by cats since the day she was born, she has seen her share of special kitty behaviour, both wanted and unwanted. Deirdre took a particular interest in feline behaviour after she adopted Neo, a fearful Seal Point Siamese kitten, in 2004. Since then, she has seen and worked on numerous behaviour challenges: inter-cat aggression, litterbox avoidance, spraying, PICA, cat-cat introductions, dog-cat introductions... the list goes on and on.
While continuing education options are limited, Deirdre strives to stay up to date on all things cat behaviour through feline-specific seminars & webinars:
Whether you're looking to modify problem behaviour or need someone to be there for your cat when you're away, Deirdre is here for you.
